the sky paints himself with the colours of interest
the moon puffs popcorn into her face and
stares with zeal –
two burning stars on earth;
igniting themselves in the flames of endearment
counting subtle cherry words on the other’s lips.
she mounts from her posture
to have a more intense look
as it turns into a smoky market
with lovers carving out a piece of their heart
and burying it in the safe of the other’s piece,
with lovers trading their hearts in exchange for trust,
we are this fallen stars; you and i.
the heavenly bodies envy ;
the string of love tied
to each end of our blazing hearts.
