BEAUTY IN THE EYES OF THE BEHOLDER

Written by Aisiku Ose Andrea

Our bodies bear the glint of stars

Older than age, perpetual in brilliance

They say, affections wane when attachments diminish

They forget, to see, one has to look; to find, one has to seek

To sustain, one has to build

The castles we build are etched in memories of gold

There our hearts will live forever

Even after our bodies go to rest

Our joy is not ephemeral

It shines through like a beacon on days of stormy gale

Hear now, troubled of heart

My lover is like a bird of prey with all elegance

The love we share makes us soar

And when the winds blow through our marrows

Together our bones will lie

Our melodies will rival the samba

Earth has known no dancer as vivacious as my heart

Skipping every time I catch your gaze

For even when I was not looking, I found you

Spread the love
